How does a realtor referral work?
A realtor referral works like this: you tell the Realtor Referral Hub where you are moving, a person at the Hub desk matches you to a local realtor in that metro, and you work with that realtor directly. The match is free for you. If your deal closes, the two brokerages settle the standard 25% referral fee between themselves — it never comes out of your pocket.
The steps
You post your city + timeline.
Two minutes on the form below. Buying, selling, or both — and roughly when.
The desk matches you by hand.
Your request goes to the partner who holds that metro — a working local realtor, not a call center and not an algorithm auction.
You work with your local realtor.
The match runs on a signed referral agreement between the brokerages, so everything is on paper before money is ever discussed.
What a referral is — and is not
A referral is one realtor handing you to another realtor in a different metro, with a written agreement between their brokerages. It is not a lead sold to the highest bidder: nobody bought your name, and the realtor you are matched with paid nothing to receive you. Partners here are listed free and matched free; the standard 25% referral fee exists only at a closing, between the brokerages. If nothing closes, nobody pays anything.
